It's been a while... a long while...

So it's been a while... a very long while and I haven't really been doing too much other than school and twitter and... oh yeah... Lego Doctor Who Series 2.

I recently finished editing the first episode of this new thirteen episode season and I'm fairly happy with it. The few people I've let watch a secret preview version have all said they really like it. So as you can imagine I'm fairly happy with this reaction.

Currently, I do not have a final release date for the series because I plan to release it along side Series 9 of Doctor Who. So we're probably looking at about late August.

As, I'm sure you're all aware, this series is bigger and more time consuming than anything I have ever done before. Thirteen 15 minute (average) episodes is not easy for one person to produce, hence why it has taken this long. However, another reason for the lack of productivity on this project is because when I first set out writing this series I was very excited to make it but that was probably because for the last 3 months I had been making Series 1 which I had become very tired of so the prospect of a completely new project became very appealing. But that did not last long. As soon as Series 1 was over I was left with the task of an approximately 40 minute long first episode. This became very scary so I put it off as long as I could. I split all the episodes in the series in two parts to see if that would reduce pressure, but it didn't. I even tried to run away and make my own spin off. I'm still making that btw I just have to make Series 2 first otherwise the spin off won't make sense.

But after all that... there was one thing which I'm certain gave me the kick up the backside I needed... meeting Peter Capaldi. The man is honestly the nicest person alive. Meeting him was easily one of the best moments of my life and I think its that shock of meeting him and knowing that he is such a fan of the show is what really pushed me these last few days to make a proper start. And I have.

Now that I have made one episode and I'm really happy with it, I want to make more. A feeling I did not get during Series 1. I know this series is so much better than the first and now I really want to show people that. I have thirteen scripts that I firmly believe shows what I can do as a film maker. I cannot wait to hear what you guys think of this series.

One thing that I have done to be more organised this series is divided the series up into production blocks like real television series' do. For example;

BLOCK 1
2.1 and 2.2

BLOCK 2
2.7

BLOCK 3
2.3 and 2.4

BLOCK 4
2.8 and 2.9

BLOCK 5
2.5 and 2.6

BLOCK 6
2.10, 2.11, 2.12 and 2.13

BLOCK 7
APA 1x00 and 2.X

Anyway, I hope you are all looking forward to what I have in store for you because I really believe in it now,

- Matt
