It's been a while... a long while...

So it's been a while... a very long while and I haven't really been doing too much other than school and twitter and... oh yeah... Lego Doctor Who Series 2.

I recently finished editing the first episode of this new thirteen episode season and I'm fairly happy with it. The few people I've let watch a secret preview version have all said they really like it. So as you can imagine I'm fairly happy with this reaction.

Currently, I do not have a final release date for the series because I plan to release it along side Series 9 of Doctor Who. So we're probably looking at about late August.

As, I'm sure you're all aware, this series is bigger and more time consuming than anything I have ever done before. Thirteen 15 minute (average) episodes is not easy for one person to produce, hence why it has taken this long. However, another reason for the lack of productivity on this project is because when I first set out writing this series I was very excited to make it but that was probably because for the last 3 months I had been making Series 1 which I had become very tired of so the prospect of a completely new project became very appealing. But that did not last long. As soon as Series 1 was over I was left with the task of an approximately 40 minute long first episode. This became very scary so I put it off as long as I could. I split all the episodes in the series in two parts to see if that would reduce pressure, but it didn't. I even tried to run away and make my own spin off. I'm still making that btw I just have to make Series 2 first otherwise the spin off won't make sense.

But after all that... there was one thing which I'm certain gave me the kick up the backside I needed... meeting Peter Capaldi. The man is honestly the nicest person alive. Meeting him was easily one of the best moments of my life and I think its that shock of meeting him and knowing that he is such a fan of the show is what really pushed me these last few days to make a proper start. And I have.

Now that I have made one episode and I'm really happy with it, I want to make more. A feeling I did not get during Series 1. I know this series is so much better than the first and now I really want to show people that. I have thirteen scripts that I firmly believe shows what I can do as a film maker. I cannot wait to hear what you guys think of this series.

One thing that I have done to be more organised this series is divided the series up into production blocks like real television series' do. For example;

BLOCK 1
2.1 and 2.2

BLOCK 2
2.7

BLOCK 3
2.3 and 2.4

BLOCK 4
2.8 and 2.9

BLOCK 5
2.5 and 2.6

BLOCK 6
2.10, 2.11, 2.12 and 2.13

BLOCK 7
APA 1x00 and 2.X

Anyway, I hope you are all looking forward to what I have in store for you because I really believe in it now,

- Matt

Putting Series 1 on Hold....

I regret to inform you all that there will not be an episode next week and probably not the week after either.

Reason being that due to school starting soon and the amount of homework I have to do till then. A second reason would be I haven't filmed many scenes in the next episode nor the one after nor the one after that.

So this little break will give me a chance to complete all the episodes before episode 4 is released.

Keep your eyes peeled for a trailer for the 2nd half of the series. That is when you know that the series is back next week.

Matt.

Series 1 Filming Continues...

So filming continues on Series 1 a little later than it was supposed to happen.  I've got to edit all of episode 2 to upload this Saturday, all of episode 3 this week to upload next Saturday when I get back from a holiday, I've got to film all of episode 4 and a lot of episode 5 to edit when I'm at my Nan's house the week after, and then the week after that I've got to finish episode 5 and 6 so I can do all my homework because I'll be going back to school the week episode 6 gets uploaded.

So on top of all that I thought I should share some behind the scenes pics of filming. Enjoy!

Filming In The Desert.

This Is Meant To Be A Cave... Apparently

The Doctor Wears A Hat In Episode Four

Wearing A New Costume; Brown Trousers And A Jacket With Sleeves

Meet The Ring Leader. New Villain For Episode Four.

I probably won't be posting a lot of pictures from the 2 part finale on here or on twitter because I want to keep it all a secret at the moment. All I'm telling you is that it has a completely new villain in that hasn't been seen before.

Tuesday 1/7/14

So now it's July..... that means 3 weeks left of school and 3 weeks till Lego doctor who series 1 part 1. I am determined to complete episodes 1 and 3 and film the rest of episode 2. I hope to keep you all updated this week.

Thanks

Friday 27/6/14

For those who are wondering about that update video that was supposed to come out this week and didn't I have a valid reason for it not being out. My reason is..... it dawned on me during the week that on Thursday and Friday (today) I was going to be writing an essay for Film Studies that will count towards my final GCSE grade. So I made that a priority. However you will get to see a high quality version of the trailer tomorrow (Saturday) because of the lack of update video. This means I might put together a second trailer especially for the update video. That means I am going to delay the update video further but oh well. I'm sure you'll manage.

BLOG PREVIEW!!!!

[APOLOGIES FOR THE QUALITY]
This is being released early here on the blog and won't be uploaded to YouTube till tomorrow. So if you do look at this blog then you are likely to get things earlier than YouTube.
